Product Design Manager

We are seeking the right Product Design Manager to jump in and help lead the product design team to make this so. You must be an interface design rockstar with a proven ability to lead a team of creatives and developers to deliver beautiful and usable solutions. This position calls for someone who is comfortable juggling high visibility design deliverables as well as mentoring and managing our team of UX and UI designers.

**The right candidate will have the tools to:** * Lead large scale projects that include the evolution of our product design language * Mentor and manage the product designers to help them achieve their goals * Oversee the department day-to-day operations * Lead and support the design team’s prototyping process * Showcase your ability to think strategically yet execute tactically * Influence the look and feel of the product experience, ensuring it maintains the proper brand presentation * Evolve the qualitative arm of research at Redfin (Usability Testing, Guerilla Testing, Internal Testing) * Collaborate and work closely with Product and Engineering leadership on implementation process

As an ideal candidate, you must have a mix of brand strategy, visual design, and user experience skills. You must have experience in product development and be well versed in all the necessary skills needed to ship beautiful products. You have to demonstrate very strong design aesthetics coupled with effective communication skills. You should be able to walk through any project and present a cohesive business rationale behind every decision as well as the success metrics of it’s impact. **To succeed, you need to have:** * Expert ability in Sketch, Adobe CS, and of course be adept with a marker and a whiteboard * Strong ability in prototyping tools like Invision, Pixate, or Axure * Knowledge of HTML/CSS * Motion Graphics experience is a plus * Understanding of how to make something both beautiful and intuitively functional * A rock solid work ethic * A fun, creative, and organized approach to your work * Experience leading a product design team * Comfort working alongside creative and non-creative types alike * Ability to communicate vision while understanding any potential limitations * A portfolio that demonstrates a range of solutions with a full grasp of product process from concept to delivery
