SELCO Community Credit Union is a not-for-profit consumer cooperative that was established in 1936 when local school teachers and school employees pooled their funds together in a shoe box to offer each other loans in times of need.
Summary
Provide quality services to existing members and actively develop new business relationships. Responsible for the development and maintenance of SELCO's local business loan portfolio working closely with other employees and management.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain oversight of SELCO’s business loan portfolio and take actions to ensure ongoing assessment of loan quality, deepening relationships and developing new business. * Prepare thorough borrower analysis (including financial reports with explanations) along with spreading various tax returns and financial information to be used for loan underwriting. * Compare items such as liquidity, profitability, credit and historic business trends with other companies in the same industry, size and geographic location. * Analyze such factors such as income trends, quality of management, industry trends, potential risks and collateral type and valuations. * Prepare various credit requests, including results of credit analysis and a summary of member loan requirements. * Monitor and review accounts receivable agings for lines of credit. * Prepare annual reviews on necessary commercial loans (e.g., complete property inspections (upon request), spread annual financials, rent rolls, etc.). * Provide exceptional member service while assisting members. * Retain and deepen member relationships by assessing member needs to identify and offer appropriate financial solutions to business members. * Obtain necessary information from members to support business loan portfolio management. * Refer members to appropriate SELCO personnel or business unit in alignment with service standards, strategic initiatives and goals. * Prepare and review periodic reports and take appropriate action on accounts as needed. * Prepare necessary reports/forms to complete monthly construction draw requests and track construction progress. * Assist members and team members with questions/problem resolution. * Decision loan requests using sound underwriting principles using established Credit Union policies and guidelines within stated parameters and authority. * Actively engage with people in a respectful and professional manner. * Communicate with internal, external, and potential members in a friendly, professional manner in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail. * Adhere to federal and state regulations, credit union policies, and other compliance obligations. * Consistently achieve stated goals. * Participate in required meetings and training. * Demonstrate leadership skills and maintain corporate values, service promises and mission statement. * Represent the Credit Union with a high level of integrity and professionalism. * Support Management and member decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner. * Actively participate in security, robbery, disaster recovery and fire training. * Actively contribute to Credit Union and department team goals and functions, including but not limited to, initiating resolution of observed or known issues concerning other departments and championing other departmental changes that will benefit the organization. * Perform other duties as assigned.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone. * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Sophisticated word processing and computer database skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software. * Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. * Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality and accuracy. * Working knowledge of microcomputer operations, including knowledge of online computer system as it applies to departmental usage. * Strong analytical ability with active listening skills. * Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. * Willingness and ability to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines. * Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor. * Ability to concentrate in environment with background noise. * Ability to complete or resume tasks despite interruptions. **Education and Experience** * High school diploma or equivalent; and * Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent related work experience; and * At least two (2) years of experience in commercial credit analysis and/or commercial lending experience; and * Must be bondable.
