Summary
The main purpose of this position is to provide expertise on Scottrade retirement products and services. Key responsibilities include delivering a consistently superior level of service while educating clients on retirement investment options and strategies, building rapport, uncovering client needs, overcoming objections, identifying opportunities to leverage business partners to meet more complex and investment needs
Responsibilities
* Assist in educating clients and branch representatives to a high degree with retirement account types, employer-sponsored plans, planning strategies and investment taxation; explain old retirement account options. * Field questions from clients regarding types of IRAs, contributions, withdrawals, required minimum distributions; provide general customer service support and field questions from clients and prospects regarding Scottrade account services, products, fees, and trading platforms; provide timely professional responses to client email and chat inquiries; place trades for clients. * Provide support to branch Investment Consultants on complex retirement issues including qualified employer plans, SEP, SIMPLE, and Solo 401(k), retirement distribution strategies, deductibility rules and potential tax implications. * Assist clients with rollover and transfer decisions by following established firm procedures while providing recommendations that are in the client’s best interests in adherence to DOL Fiduciary rules. * Provide advanced level of support and expertise to branch Investment Consultants and Guidance Solutions Group regarding the Rollover/Transfer Questionnaire and resulting recommendations through the DOL consultation process for retirement account transfers and rollovers. * Provide overflow phone support for Guidance Solutions Group as needed. * Act as subject matter expert and serve as a point of escalation for Guidance Solutions Group retirement topics/accounts. * Contact clients via outbound calls regarding business development, education, asset gathering and retention opportunities; assist in educating our branches and Scottrade employees on retirement basics and planning strategies. * Train and Mentor new Retirement Specialists. * Assist with project work. * Resolve or escalate client complaints or problems appropriately. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong knowledge of financial markets, account types, investment planning, and strategies. * Advanced knowledge of and expertise with retirement topics including Social Security, qualified and non-qualified employer sponsored plans, distribution planning, tax implications, etc. * Ability to adapt quickly within a fast changing environment. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills that result in higher client satisfaction. * Ability to provide appropriate solutions that meet client needs and result in additional asset gathering opportunities. * Ability to establish rapport quickly and engage in meaningful conversations. * Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. * Ability to remain current on all policies, procedures, and training. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks. * Basic math skills; ability to perform various investment calculations. * Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude. **Minimum Education & Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. * 2+ year financial service experience required; 3+ years preferred. * Proficiency in communicating via phone, chat, & email preferred. * Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation required, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days. **License & Certification Requirement(s)** Clean U4 securities record required - FINRA, Series 66 required - FINRA, Series 7 required - FINRA
