Summary
This position is to help provide the highest degree of financial knowledge and education for Edelman Financial Services to assure that we provide our clients the best available in the industry.
Responsibilities
* Work with Research and Education team as well as Planner management helping to train new planners during orientation and follow-on training * Work with Research and Education team as well as Planner management helping to train existing planners on EFS methods, systems and other practice management needs * Help assess firm-wide developmental needs of the financial planners to drive training and education initiatives * Work with the Research and Education team and Planner management to continually assess existing programs and systems the planners use to determine changes and upgrades needed to maximize opportunities with clients and potential clients * Work with Operations and IT Departments for enhancement of existing systems, development of new systems and deployment for both * Work with multiple departments to review and edit written and other material we make available to the public * Conduct research as required by Planner management and/or other departments * Teach the nuances of the firm’s culture as needed in all training sessions * Perform other duties as assigned and required * Travel may be required
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor degree required, preferably in Finance, Organizational Development, Education or related field * FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66, and 24 or equivalent (8 or 9/10) securities licenses required * CFP® designation preferred * Applicable state insurance license required * Knowledge in all areas of financial planning including investments, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning, taxes, real estate and mortgages * Coaching and training experience * Minimum 5 years financial services industry experience working with clients in a broker/dealer or registered investment advisor environment required * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, as necessary to work effectively with staff at all levels * Must be flexible and a strong team player * Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision * Attention to detail, ability to organize work, and follow-up skills are critical to the successful performance of position responsibilities * Ability to prioritize, address multiple projects and meet deadlines is critical * Thorough knowledge of MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is a must
