Summary
As a Licensing Specialist, you will be responsible for all aspects of the licensing process for Sales Agents, Claims Adjusters, Motor Vehicle Damage Appraisers, Safe Auto Insurance Company and its affiliated business entities. This includes ensuring pre-licensing requirements are met; submitting initial applications and required supporting documentation; license renewals; appointments; appointment terminations and appointment renewals; verifying continuing education requirements have been met as well as submitting demographic changes to the states. This position also has responsibilities for supporting SafeAuto Insurance Agency and ensuring Agency contracts are compliant with internal guidelines; setting up Agencies in our internal system and appointing them to the appropriate company.
Responsibilities
* Review confidential information to determine producer and agency ability to become licensed and/or appointed. * Gather and verify accuracy of required applications and supporting documentation used to process licenses, renewals and appointments. * Submit applications and appointments utilizing the most efficient and cost effective methods approved by each state. * Submit affiliations and designations as required. * Coordinate pre-licensing and continuing education requirements to ensure compliance with state laws. * Follow up on all transactions until approved; resolve any issues that impede the progress of the transactions. * Terminate appointments, send appointment termination notifications and deactivate licensed employees from licensing systems. * Proactively implement process changes through statutory and internet research. * Provides a prompt and knowledgeable response to all licensing and compliance inquires. * Builds and maintains positive internal and external customer relationships. * Build and maintain records in a variety of licensing systems. * Navigates a variety of internet based programs and internal systems. * Prepares professional correspondence. * Create and update licensing procedures. * Basic administrative duties (processing incoming mail, scanning, filing etc). * Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of two years administrative experience. * High school diploma or GED. * Ability to follow established workflows and guidelines. * Proactive approach to problem solving; a logical thinker. * Must be detail oriented, highly responsible and able to work within tight deadlines. * Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information internally and externally in a clear, focused and concise manner. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Proven ability to handle extremely confidential information. * Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skill level required. * Proficient in internet research **Qualifications Desired** * Familiarity with insurance licensing practices. * Paralegal certification or college level coursework. * Proficiency conducting online legal research.
