Summary
To develop and secure strategic programs which promote wine and spirit brands into the marketplace through national and regional restaurants by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
• Plans the development of RNDC markets and conducts sales calls on National and regional-level accounts. Guides the development of company products, pricing policies, and sales strategies, as necessary, to ensure market penetration, projected profits and growth in line with planned corporate objectives. • Travels to assigned markets to monitor field activities and gain perspective of current market conditions. Plans, searches out, and develops sales contacts among potential national accounts. Attends trade shows, consults industry directories, and travel extensively in search of leads and developing customer leads. • Establishes firm customer prospect rapport. Develops and maintain relationships within the marketplace. • Executes all stages of a sales campaign. Makes telephone calls and initiates contacts. Meets with potential customer company representative(s) to explain in detail company products and each product’s potential profitability. Engages in difficult negotiations to develop new business and resolve more critical problem situations affecting the national accounts sales program(s). Acts as a liaison between customer and the company. • Ensures that the necessary market research, planning, and analysis of customer products and market opportunities are accomplished. • Recommends and implements advertising campaigns and performance incentive programs for National Accounts. • Prepares annual National Accounts sales forecasts and ensures that sales goals are attained. Maintains appropriate files, completes periodic reports, and other required documentation. • Manages and supervises a team of National Account Managers at the state level. Manages up to five subordinate managers and may manage one to three administrative personnel and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree from a four year college or university preferred; five to seven years related experience, preferably three years plus on premise sales with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents (such as general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations), write routine reports and correspondence, and to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Spanish bilingual abilities preferred. Ability to work with mathematical concepts (such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry) and apply concepts (such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations). Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions (in mathematical or diagram form), and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office Suite software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and etc.), and order processing systems (such as Discus, IRI, Logility, Microstrategy, and etc.) or the aptitude to learn. Other technology used in this occupation: customer relationship management CRM software and data base user interface and query software. * Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Requires a current state driver's license; ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements; alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state (i.e. TABC License – Texas). * Other Requirements: Ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle; and 1st Level sommelier or CWE a plus. * Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
