Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the corporate computing environment (physical and cloud) as well the local data center facility.
Responsibilities
* Regular and consistent attendance. * Perform all operational functions required on computers and servers to include (but not limited to) operating systems, system back-up and the offsite transfer of back-up copies. Specific duties include: * Troubleshoot and repair of all hardware components including servers, storage devices and associated cabling. * Monitor system performance and recommend corrective action. * Provide Server System Administration support for Windows Server. * Provide root cause analysis and define corrective action in response to interruptions in service. * Test and Implement new computing equipment and upgrades to hardware components as directed. * Test and implement new software and upgrades to software products and tools as directed. * Participate in documenting current environment and ongoing maintenance of documentation * Participate in capacity and utilization monitoring and response as directed. * Monitor, manage and report results against Service Level Agreements and Objectives (SLA / SLO). Report results as directed * Develop and maintain practices and documentation required to effectively support the environment. * Supports the Disaster Recovery plan to ensure that applications can be recovered to meet the Recovery Time Objectives as defined and approved by Management: * Monitors data backup processes; server state backup processes to ensure that recovery is possible * Monitors a DR test environment to be used to create and validate application process for individual business applications * Participates in the on-site Recovery Center team in the event of a disaster * Participates in drills to ensure recovery plans are viable and will meet RTO needs; updates as needed * Identifies opportunities to reduce risk and mitigate potential threats; proposes solutions as necessary * Collaborates with other IT groups to ensure ongoing operation and maintenance of Regal’s information infrastructure * Testing and Implementing new and / or upgrade hardware components * Collaborating with IT groups to maintain, problem solve and upgrade computing facilities * Updates server infrastructure to remove vulnerabilities identified by IT Information Security processes; updates server standards and design as needed * Supports the Regal relationship with key infrastructure vendors to ensure compliance with defined Service Level Objectives and / or contract terms and schedules * Monitors status of equipment with respect to warranty coverage and recommends action as needed * Recommends changes to contracts, SOW or SLAs with key vendors as needed * Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health, Safety and Quality) * Comply with all legislative/statutory obligations and company policies (PCI, ADA, PII, and Sarbanes Oxley, etc…) * Employee will be required to participate in an on-call rotation to respond to issues or problems which occur in normal course of business, including early hours (before 0600) and late hours (post 1800) in the day. * Perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure support in a complex business and systems environment * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent IT systems experience * Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or higher certification and CompTIA A+ certification preferred * Strong tactical and working knowledge of all technologies currently in-use and planned * Possess the ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge in a timely manner and for the appropriate task. * Experience in retail environment is preferred * Experience in process oriented environment, incident management, process and change management within ITIL framework desired * Experience with any of the following technologies is preferred: * VMware ESX server 5.X or higher * Microsoft System Center * Avamar 7.x or higher * Cisco UCS * Microsoft Azure * PowerShell scripting * Demonstrated skills to communicate difficult technical concepts clearly to a variety of individuals of varying technical expertise and understanding. * Demonstrate effective decision-making skills, even under pressure and while lacking all of the desired information detail. * Good written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with the business unit executives, management and staff, as well as IT management and staff. * Must be a disciplined process-oriented individual able to lead implementation of best practice controls and processes. * Possess good problem solving skills for a complex network topology, being able to assemble a team as needed to identify issues, root causes and solutions. * Must have proven ability to work successfully in a high volume, technically demanding job, providing leadership and customer service while utilizing excellent judgment * Must be flexible and willing to travel to other locations * Must be proactive in identifying and correcting infrastructure deficiencies. * Must be a team player and excellent collaborator * Must be mature, poised, and confident in the face of adversity. * Must be highly organized and capable of providing technical leadership while requiring minimal day-to-day guidance.
