Summary
HealthcareSource is seeking a highly motivated Junior Development Operations Engineer with systems knowledge to work with the Operations team. This person is the primary technical principal, responsible for delivery of Windows enterprise web farm infrastructure solutions. This position focuses on expertise in IIS, web infrastructure support and middleware. The Jr. DevOps Engineer works closely with both the Development and Operations teams to create software based solutions to all of the engineering challenges that come with providing an industry-leading SaaS solution. The Jr. DevOps engineer is an unique role and requires a candidate who is comfortable writing code, re-engineering a process, and communicating and collaborating with multiple teams in the organization. An ideal candidate will have a background in operations as well as solid development experience. This position is located in our Woburn, MA headquarters and reports to the Manager of Release Engineering.
Responsibilities
* Maintain\Develop SDLC deployment automation and software tools for build promotions, software releases, and configuration management * Work with Operations\DEV\QA teams to analyze and design web farm infrastructure with 99.99% uptime with virtualization, clustering, database, disaster recovery, and geographic redundancy * Actively monitor and administer the applications and hosting environment to increase efficiency, improve reliability, and minimize downtimes * Triage and help provide technical solutions to environment related issues encountered by new and existing applications in the environment * Support developers with change requests, uptime, performance related issues, and access * Application management for ASP.NET, .NET, MSMQ, SQL * Documentation of work in regards to systems analysis, application monitoring, and common task reporting * Author internal documentation, such as environment diagrams, installation/configuration documents and release notes * Assist in establishing and implementing configuration management program and policies * Troubleshoot and debug environment and infrastructure problems found in the production and non-production environments
Ideal Candidate
**Required Experience:** * Strong scripting skills in any common language (such as Windows PowerShell) and fluent in basic T-SQL is a plus * Experience working in a SaaS environment * Experience working with .NET Framework, C#, ASP.NET, MVC * Familiarity with deploying and configuring .NET applications * Experience with system automation and deployment tools **Nice To Have:** * Experience with jQuery and JavaScript * Background in systems engineering and operations * Exposure to server virtualization configuration and management **Technical Skills:** * Strong knowledge of software configuration, source control, and build engineering, scripting and system administration is required * Understanding of OOP principles * Hosting and running websites on a large scale environment * Windows networking and hosting requirements * Deploy web products built on the Microsoft stack, including Windows Server 20XX and IIS 6.x/7.x (or above) * Scripting experience and fluency in at least one scripting language: example: Windows PowerShell * Passion for improving software development processes and desires to automate any repetitive work you ever do * Familiarity with configuration management tools (DSC or similar industry-standard configuration management solutions) * Enthusiasm for working closely with developers to understand ops requirements * Experience with large project rollouts at an enterprise level * Knowledge of Windows 20XX operating systems and tools * Database management expertise: MS SQL Server * Some development experience with ASP.NET, C#, MVC * Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, including application and network-level troubleshooting ability
