Summary
Quidel is searching for a Market Access & Reimbursement Manager to work at our corporate facility in the Carmel Valley of San Diego.
Responsibilities
* Developing relationships with payers, advocacy groups, key opinion leaders to ensure the adoption of new and existing tests as standard of care. * Devising and implementing reimbursement strategies for current and new products. Developing strategies for government payers, health plans, physician groups, medical centers, etc. Once developed, monitors strategies for effectiveness. * Acting as the reimbursement resource for Quidel Sales organization, distributor partners and end-user customers. Developing and executing field-based reimbursement support services for new and existing products to ensure patient access to Quidel products. * Keeping track of all medical reimbursement files and serves as the point person with insurance companies. Managing and keeping record of all reimbursement “issues” (within state and federal laws). * Developing reimbursement education, training and resources for sales reps and external customers through marketing collateral, webinars, live presentations and travel as needed. * Assisting in defining and implementing economic study protocols. Communicating results as part of overall reimbursement efforts and to show why rapid testing should be considered standard of care. * Working closely with outside counsel and other relevant organizations to understand and drive reimbursement of current and new tests. Keeping up to date with current and future federal guidelines and reimbursement trends; training organization as appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of payor policies and Medicare coding, coverage, and payment. * Understand national initiatives affecting reimbursement of medical device products, physicians, and other care settings. * 5+ years experience in a reimbursement related function. * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. * Strong knowledge of medical terminology and good clinical practice. * High level of organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, high priority projects calmly. * Knowledge of reimbursement process (support of changes/additions) and payer groups. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. * Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate findings/recommendations clearly and succinctly. Statistical skills desirable. * Ability to think strategically and bring a high level of creativity to the organization. * Proven problem solving abilities and demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently on complex issues. * High degree of ethics and professionalism with ability to handle confidential information.
