Summary
The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting, including journal entries, analyzing manufacturing costs, overseeing monthly inventory and COGS analysis, reconciliations and SOX controls. The manager will also be responsible for managing one cost accountant.
Responsibilities
* Manage cost accounting and related month end close processes * Provide timely preparation and analysis of product costs, manufacturing variances & other cost of goods sold * Provide inventory, warranty and E&O analysis * Audit inventory controls for cycle counts and physical inventories; analyze results to monitor variances * Work with auditors during annual audit, quarterly reviews, and SOX testing * Utilize the company’s ERP and other systems to analyze cost of goods sold * Partner with Operations team to streamline inventory and supply chain activities * Continue to improve business processes, systems, and enhance documentation and controls as part of SOX compliance efforts * Performs other duties or special projects as assigned or requested
Ideal Candidate
**What You Bring To The Team** * Seven or more years of Cost Accounting experience in a high tech, high volume contract manufacturing environment; * Must be a self-starter, a “hands-on” individual who enjoys challenges and dedicated to getting things done with minimal support and supervision * Solid Excel and Google Drive skills as well as extensive knowledge of NetSuite or other ERP systems * Excellent attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent training and experience) is required. MBA or CPA is preferred **Preferred Qualifications** * An ideal candidate has proven leadership qualities, strong cost accounting knowledge, ability to multi-task and collaborate cross functionally, effective communication skills, and demonstrated supervisory experience with an ability to lead by example * Prior experience in implementing and testing transactions for new ERP systems * CPA license
