Summary
The Office of Finance and Treasury is seeking an analyst responsible for the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives in the procurement and accounts payable areas, as well as the stabilization and ongoing enhancements necessary for business and campus needs. The successful candidate will deliver innovative business consulting, business process design, systems integration, and application design and management. To meet these requirements, the functional analyst will need to combine an in-depth understanding of procurement and AP business processes, with technical acumen and knowledge of how to enable these processes to be effective and efficient across a range of financial systems. In particular, it is essential that the functional analyst have a deep understanding of the latest PeopleSoft Financial releases, specifically 9.1 or higher. This role will be responsible for addressing business problems and/or opportunities by capturing requirements, documenting processes, and recommending functional designs for major projects. In addition, the functional analyst will perform tasks related to the design, planning and execution of testing and implementation. Ongoing support/maintenance of the system is also required for this position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in working in a matrixed environment. S/he will be able to handle multiple assignments and respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities as well as solve a variety of issues where limited standardization exists. This position requires exceptional judgment and the ability to maintain collaborative relationships at a variety of levels within the university. The functional analyst will collaborate as part of a team of business analysts and report developers. This position is one of two functional analyst positions on the team who have responsibility for the Procure-to-Pay business processes.
Responsibilities
* Works with colleagues to document and analyze functional requirements, identify gaps, and identifies alternative approaches to meet requirements. * Collaborates closely with business owners to ensure enhancements satisfy the required needs of the business and campus. * Manages status update meetings, timelines, and communicates impact of new initiatives. * Manages expectations due to multiple projects being developed concurrently as well as ability to work and resolved production support items. * Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs. * Supports organizational readiness by contributing to the planning for communications and training materials to facilitate the introduction of new capabilities. * Works with functional, technical and reporting peers to identify best approaches to ensure that user requirements are met with a usable, intuitive and efficient manner and implements approved solutions. * Plays a key role in leading and executing functional user acceptance testing with guidance from the project teams. * Coordinates with Office of Information Technology (OIT) personnel on addressing technical requirements impacting the overall solution design.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in technology related field or business administration * Minimum of 7 to 9 years of relevant work experience * Expertise in PeopleSoft Financials 9.1 or greater configuration and setup, with a focus on procurement-related functions. * Have experience managing at least two major projects of six months or more. * Experience in SDLC for multiple PeopleSoft Financial/Supply Chain implementations * Broad knowledge in the business functions of Purchasing and Accounts Payable * Entity relationship diagramming (ERD), Process flowcharting (VISIO) * PeopleSoft Query, including using SQL * Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel and Access database management. **Preferred:** * In-depth knowledge of SciQuest cloud-based solutions. * Familiarity with Concur. * Master's degree in technology related field or business administration * Experience with other PeopleSoft Financial modules * PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is a plus. * MS Project
