Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of engineering assignments by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses\. This Construction Engineer Specialist at this level has prior experience and is expected to complete assignments with increased proficiency\. Occasional travel to construction site locations is expected\.
Responsibilities
* Track all project costs for project managers. * Research labor, contract, expended, committed costs, and explain to project managers to help determine forecast cost at completion, and associated variances. * Interface regularly with the client and major delivery partners for updates, documentation requests, cash flows, and regular meetings. * Run cost tracking reports and cost project cost detail reports. * Assist project managers with cost, safety, risk, and status reporting on various projects. * Develop and maintain document management system on Share Point for use by project stakeholders. * Assist project managers with obtaining funding authorizations, budget requests, scoping documents, and initiating new project contracts * Work with Program Management Office schedulers/Controls group to provide cost reports for reporting Earned Value. * Close out of completed projects in SAP utilizing project checklists. * Performs other responsibilities associated with this position, as may be appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management, Accounting or related field with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in cost engineering or accounting is preferred. * Must have the ability to attend off-site project meetings and site walks, if required”. * Demonstrated working knowledge of database entry and reports. * Proficiency with multiple computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite and accounting programs. * Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment and interface with project and client team members.
