About OwnLocal
OwnLocal is a fun-loving and hardworking Austin-area startup with a crazy plan to help local media companies survive by providing digital services to their small business advertisers. We're a leader in digital advertising solutions for local media companies globally—we partner with more than 2,600 media companies and operate in North America, Europe, and Australia.
Summary
You're based in Austin (or want to move here), you're a good-natured person (with a sense of humor) and people just like to be around you; you're excited about solving problems, and you have a genuine desire to create a white-glove experience for new customers from the moment they sign a contract until they are fully onboarded.
Responsibilities
* Interact with C-level media executives to explain the changing digital landscape * Serve as expert consultants on transitioning old media companies into new digital revenue models * Work directly with technology leaders inside fortune 1000 companies to plan and implement new technology rollouts * Perform site visits and training when and where it makes sense * Communicate customer concerns to the support and product team
Ideal Candidate
* Basic customer facing roles (customer service, restaurant, retail, hotel) * Getting and communicating feedback from customers * Talking on the phone, leaving voicemails, and writing emails that make people fall in love with you * Generally convincing people to do things they don't want to do * Any kind of sales (sandwich artist counts... yes I WOULD like a cookie with my meatball sub) **You should really seriously apply if you are also good at any of the following:** * Presenting PowerPoint via webinars while keeping everyone on the call awake (for, like, 70% of the call--we're realistic afterall) * Using Excel in a way that frightens and confuses mere mortals * Managing onboarding for any enterprise-level software (or having actually used the word "onboarding" in a conversation with a real person) * Working with local media (newspaper, tv, radio) or small businesses * Increasing customer retention by conducting regular check-in calls, track accounts to identify retention risk, work proactively to eliminate that risk, and advising partners on strategies, tactics, and best practices to better equip them for success. (Or, pretty much anything you think an MBA might say.) * Your idea of fun involves using SalesForce (or any other complex CRM) to track customer and company wins.
