Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) & Testing Lead Specialist will connect across the global Owens Corning GIS organization. This individual will interact with operational and development teams leveraging several methodologies and/or frameworks (ex: ITIL, Agile and Waterfall). The QA & Testing Lead Specialist will partner with these teams to operate, educate and implement proven QA & Testing methods and tools. He/she will experiment with other methods and tools to further enable the Owens Corning GIS strategy.

Responsibilities

QA & Testing Capability Stewardship (65%)

  • Manage execution of day to day operations; could involve managing 3rd party resources and providing backup testing tool/application support
  • Execute, deploy, and maintain QA & Testing standards and policies
  • Design and implement functional & performance automation scenarios
  • Manage & maintain testing assets
  • Drive and track the automation and execution of performance and regression test assets to ensure adequate coverage
  • Drive and track procedures for creation and maintenance of manual test assets to ensure sustainability and coverage
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of testing tools and processes

Deliver QA & Testing Strategy and Service (25%)

  • Develop QA & Testing standards & policies
  • Consult with teams to raise the acumen of QA & Testing capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on the development of appropriate testing strategies
  • Validate quality of test plans and scenarios
  • Design and implement measurement/metrics
  • Design and implement automation strategy for GIS projects
  • Design and implement test data management strategy supporting performance and functional testing

Project Participation (as needed)

  • Lead or participate in testing activities for key global projects requiring a high level of testing science
  • Transition the sustainment of post project testing scenarios to support organizations
  • Manage 3rd party resources executing functional and performance testing
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 5 years working in Information Systems

Experience:

  • 1- 2 years application/software testing
  • Experience in end to end software development life cycle (Design, Development and Deployment)
  • Experience with the following tools preferred (HP QC/ALM, HP PC/LoadRunner, SAP TAO, SAP Solution Manager, Jenkins, Atlassian toolset, GitHub)

  • Process knowledge of application testing science
  • Demonstrated project management
  • Demonstrated meeting facilitation
  • Relationship building and collaboration
  • Business requirements translation to technical solution specifications
  • Knowledge of basic Lean, Six Sigma concepts & methodologies
