DBA (MySQL/Postgres)

OutboundEngine is a 100 percent done-for-you email, social media and content marketing platform that helps business owners stay top-of-mind with customers and prospects, and turn online engagement into revenue. The cloud-based product automates the delivery of timely, tailored e-mail, social and content marketing campaigns for a wide range of industries.

This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering and will play a critical role in driving new product development and improvements of existing products. • Design and implement capacity planning
• Monitor database systems for general health and performance and proactively address issues
• Set database performance best practices.? Review and approve database schema and procedure changes.?
• Evaluate new tools and technologies to support growing business needs
• Manage our Redshift Data Warehouse
• Work closely with the Engineers to determine optimal database architecture performance for our multitenant service
• Identify and recommend tools and services for managing database infrastructure in all environments in the development lifecycle, including production and development
• Hardware sizing and tuning requirements for database loads based in efficient use of multiple resources
• Update and tune MySQL instances in a high volume environment
• Responsible for the maintenance of the database, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery management

• Strong working knowledge of all aspects of MySQL replication
• Proficiency with schema and index design
• Familiarity with MySQL DBA tools
• Prior experience performing query analysis and optimization
• Familiarity working in AWS
• Experience working in a cloud environment

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of other data technologies such as MongoDB, Redis Map Reduce, Redshift
• Extensive knowledge of MySQL internals including InnoDB and clustering
• Knowledge of R
• Familiar with ETL tools like Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle), Informatica, Ab Initio, Sagent, etc.?
• Amazon RDS and EC2
• Some experience with cluster, both NDB and Galera
• Nagios installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Some knowledge of *nix OS tuning is helpful
• ETL tool such as scripting language (Bash,Ruby,Python)
• Experience with Microsoft OLAP cube setup, operation, query building
