Summary
We are looking for a new Prezilian passionate about data engineering and analytics to join our team as Data Engineer.
Responsibilities
**What you will be doing** * Design and build data architecture and related tooling (e.g. ETL, A/B testing framework, Realtime stream processing) * Data warehouse modeling and design * Partner with local Data Analysts, provide tools and guidance * Create services used by product teams making it easier to publish and consume data in our customer-facing applications. * Conduct data engineering and analysis, and while partnering with our data analysts, arrive at conclusions and make actionable business recommendations based on your research and investigations. You’ll need to work smart, fast, and cross-functionally. **Responsibilities** * Partner with our San Francisco-based data team to test, build, automate, and maintain datasets for our broader teams that will be used to measure the success of ongoing initiatives * Turn business questions into testable hypotheses and hypotheses into scalable and definitive experiments (ie: what does it take to convert a free user to paying?). These experiments will inform the highest-level business decisions at Prezi. * Triage problems with our campaigns and products by investigating user engagement logs and datasets
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements** * 2+ years in general software engineering, product development. 1+ year working with data * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or related field * Up-to-date with industry trends (knows what Hadoop, Kafka is) * Hands-on experience with some data tools (e.g. RStudio or Luigi or Pig or in-house tools) * Fluent in one scripting language (e.g. Python) * Experience in data transformation (e.g. SQL or Pig) * Used data in a meaningful way (analysis, decision making, monitoring, personalization etc) **It would be awesome if you also had:** * Analyst, data scientist background * Machine learning knowledge * Real-time data processing experience * Data warehouse modeling skills * Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (especially S3, EC2, EMR, Redshift) **We work with:** * Pig, Bash, Python, SQL, R * Hadoop system * Amazon Web Services: EC2, EMR, Redshift
