Summary
We are currently seeking a Relationship Banker I for our Cascade office in Grand Rapids, MI. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing customer needs by providing a wide variety of in-branch services including the promotion and sale of deposit accounts, loans, and fee-based services; profiling customers to uncover financial needs and increase customer awareness of other products and services offered by the company. Relationship Bankers participate in the sales/business development program and maintain knowledge of other lines of business including Insurance, Investments, Wealth Management, Mortgage, Cash Management, Merchant Processing, and Commercial Banking. Relationship Bankers are also responsible for the resolution of customer problems either through direct personal action or referral to alternative branch or bank resources
Responsibilities
* May promote and originate a variety of secured and unsecured consumer loan products and related services including but not limited to auto, motorcycle and ATV, RV and boat; may originate, QHR, HELOC, lot and land, and bridge loans. * Promote business expansion by regularly soliciting existing customers for expanded business and referrals and prospecting new customer relationships through outreach calls and attendance at community and networking events. * Maintain knowledge of Old National's products and services and refer products/services offered through various business partners (e.g., retail loans, Insurance, Investments, Wealth Management, Mortgage, Cash Management, Merchant Processing, Commercial Banking, etc.) * Service customer needs and inquiries including, but not limited to, issuing counter checks, performing account maintenance changes, redeeming savings bonds, issuing/activating ATM cards, performing money transfers, providing access to safe deposit boxes, ordering checks, receiving loan payments, and selling/buying foreign currency, etc. * Attend branch sales meetings, participate in various sales contests and marketing campaigns, sales blitzes, and other activities intended to grow the business. * Builds new customer relationships through voice, written and personal contact channels. * Proactive management of existing customer relationships. **Transactional Functions:** - Accurately performs daily transactional activities for desk, drive thru and courier bag customers including processing of deposits and withdrawals, cashing checks, processing wire transfers, verifies transaction information requirements and performs defined account maintenance activities. - Accurately balances cash drawer at the end of the day. - Correctly balances ATM transactions. - May serve as vault teller.
Ideal Candidate
* High School diploma or GED Equivalent, Associate Degree in a business related field a plus. * 2 - 3 years customer service and/or sales experience in banking, retail, or related industry * Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. * The ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and work with percentages is required. * Previous cash handling and/or retail sales experience. * Demonstrated ability to establish rapport, uncover needs, relate benefits to product features, handle objections and close sale. * Possesses thorough knowledge of deposit and consumer Loan procedures. * Licenses/Certifications: Must obtain Credit Insurance License; Relationship Banker’s who make real estate secured loans must be eligible to register with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS.) * Old National/Ivy Tech certificate or post-secondary business courses are valued **Transactional Functions:** - Accurately performs daily transactional activities for desk, drive thru and courier bag customers including processing of deposits and withdrawals, cashing checks, processing wire transfers, verifies transaction information requirements and performs defined account maintenance activities. - Accurately balances cash drawer at the end of the day. - Correctly balances ATM transactions. - May serve as vault teller.
