Summary
The Financial Sales Manager (FSM I) is responsible for the overall sales, financial performance and operations management of a branch office. This person usually manages 3 - 6 individuals (directly or indirectly), including the hiring, development and performance management of these individuals. Primary responsibilities are to: maintain service excellence, reach assigned individual sales goals, ensure that subordinates reach their sales goals, maintain operational integrity of the branch and manage expenses at or under budget.The position may be designated as a Branch Mortgage Banker responsible for initiating mortgage loan applications and transitioning them to Telephone Mortgage Banking.
Responsibilities
- Sales: Lead branch sales efforts by identifying client needs and selling bank loan, deposit and fee generating product. - Refer to business, commercial and other bank sales partners; remain current on product knowledge and competition; lead branch campaigns and sales initiatives and participate in area campaigns and sales initiatives. - Management: Perform various personnel functions, including interviewing and hiring, scheduling, assigning work tasks, and monitoring work of assigned associates. - Serve as Greeter for new hires as needed. - Conduct performance reviews, coach for development and provide disciplinary action when necessary. - Provide development feedback and opportunities for team members. - Responsible for all building maintenance issues and relationships with Bank and third party vendors to ensure suitable appearance and functionality of building. - Prudently manage all expenses within or under budget. - Sales Management: Develop and implement a branch sales plan. - Follow the Banks sales management process and defined timeline for sales management activities. - Utilize Bank sales tracking/management tools. - Engage branch associates to generate sales leads and drive client sales opportunities. - Risk Management/Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal regulations and bank policy for all matters of branch operations. - Recognize branch risk exposures; maintain internal controls; properly secure Bank assets. - Monitor branch loan portfolio performance take action necessary to ensure compliance with goals/standards for watch list credits, charge offs, loan documentation exceptions, loan servicing expectations and CRA activity. - Escalate problem loans as needed. - Complete all required compliance and credit training and adhere to all compliance policy. - Customer Service: Adhere to established customer service standards, and lead branch staff in service delivery. - Resolve customer problems through research and engagement of corporate partners as needed. - Handle escalated client concerns. - Community: Represent the Bank in the community by attending civic and community group meetings, participating and volunteering on civic and community projects, to generate additional business for the Bank; utilize relationships with local civic/volunteer organization(s) to identify potential CRA opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in a sales, customer service role and/or in a lending role. -Or- - High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years experience in a sales, customer service role and/or in a lending role. **Additional Requirements:** - Must complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by the SAFE Act. - Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. Bank car not provided. - Understanding of retail banking products and services. - Ability to work with little direct supervision. **Other Preferred Qualifications:** - One year of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
