Summary
North 40 Outfitters is looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator that would be responsible for maintaining and administering North 40’s Network, Server and Phone Infrastructure. The IT System Administrator monitors our infrastructure and ensures that it is safe and running efficiently. This position requires specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Please see Essential Functions for more specifics. Responsibilities
* Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance and support of the infrastructure to meet or exceed business goals for the system availability, stability, security and agility to grow * Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing system; proactively develop, communicate and implement strategies or action plans for improving or leveraging these systems * Assist with developing and maintaining all systems, applications, security and network configurations * Troubleshoot network performance issues and help create and maintain a recovery plan * Make recommendation on upgrades, patches and new application and IT equipment * Create and maintain documentation required to support the IT Infrastructure * Some after-hours system maintenance necessary (on-call) * Some travel between local and regional offices required
Ideal Candidate
* Knowledge of computer systems and business practices * Understanding of principals and processes for providing quality customer service * A thoughtful understand of peoples’ behavior; communication techniques to convey and obtain information; proper business communication with coworkers and customers * Basic working knowledge of retail policies and procedures * Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone, via email and in person. * Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize projects based on importance with or without direction * Ability to work both individually and in a team environment * Excellent reliability and attendance, diligence and focus on producing results while on the clock. * Physical ability to easily adapt from sitting for long periods of time to standing and the ability to view a computer monitor for extended periods of time; lifting 20-50 lbs. on an occasional basis while using correct lifting, loading and carrying techniques Education/Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in computer related study; or five plus years related IT experience and/or training * Microsoft Certifications a plus (MTA, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP) * VMware Certifications a plus (VCA, VCP, VCIX, VCDX) * Network Certifications a plus (CCNA, CCIE, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) Technical Qualifications: * Windows Server 2008 thru 2013 (2016) * Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policies * IIS, DFS, WSUS, DNS, DHCP, FTP, CA, SSL * Office 365 (Email, SharePoint, Skype, OneDrive, Yammer) * Microsoft Exchange 2007 thru 2013 * VMware ESXi 5.5 and 6.0 * Ubuntu 14.04 thru 15.10 and/or CentOS or RHEL7.0 thru 7.2 * Reviewing, interpreting and troubleshooting from gathered Windows event logs * Patching & Upgrades (Windows, Linux, Network, Storage) * Backup administration, scheduling and troubleshooting * NAS/SAN Storage with ISCSI/NFS configuration and troubleshooting * Firewalls and Networking Hardware (FortiGate, Meraki, Netgear) * Wifi Hardware (Meraki, Aruba) * Network routing, VLANs, ACLs * Panasonic phone systems * Documenting System Configuration, Policies, Procedures, Standards Skills Preferred * Written Communication Advanced * Verbal Communication Advanced * Customer Service Advanced Behaviors Preferred * Functional Expert: Considered a thought leader on a subject * Team Player: Works well as a member of a group * Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well * Dedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Motivations Preferred * Goal Completion: Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasks * Growth Opportunities: Inspired to perform well by the chance to take on more responsibility * Job Security: Inspired to perform well by the knowledge that your job is safe * Ability to Make an Impact: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization
