Obtain an overall knowledge of digital video processing and distribution systems. Develop the technical knowledge to assist with the build-out, maintenance, and support of Midcontinent’s digital video systems.
- Provide support of the MC Video and RF product distribution system through knowledge of analog and digital Video, VOD, ad insertion and conditional access systems; to assist in the build-out and maintenance of the video product distribution system.
- Assist Video Engineers in executing internal projects and processes directed toward promoting the health of the overall network; including but is not limited to: Preventive maintenance, EAS, status monitoring, and lab testing.
- Work with Video Systems Engineers to ensure Midcontinent’s video services are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with the requirements of the services carried on the systems.
- Develop a basic knowledge of QAM modulation, conditional access, content acquisition, encoding, rate shaping, multiplexing, encryption, MPEG-2/4, and ad insertion.
- Keep management and team members up-to-date of engineering activities, issues and progress.
- Develop a working knowledge of satellite video transport and network systems.
- Assist with system component installation as necessary.
- Assist Video Engineers in developing specifications and parameters for the design of cable network.
- Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate reports as requested.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication both internally and externally when required.
- Adhere to Midcontinent Communications privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
- Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

- Enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program towards Electronic Engineering / Technology, Computer Science, or Network Engineering required.
- Computer and networking experience required.
- One year of hands-on technical experience desired.
