Responsibilities
* Possess all core PDM Skills: define and prioritize use cases, define requirements, write stories, prioritize stories/scope, manage development questions * Able to find the right scope balance between business needs, client needs, technical constraints/capabilities, UX best practices, creative goals and time/cost * Able to manage large, complex, difficult projects from start to finish, identifying and managing various work streams to completion; able to craft appropriate timelines and deliver to them; flexible enough to adapt project plans as conditions change * Own mastery of requirements and complete picture of the entire project; know everything that is/isn't in scope, and why * Can articulately paint a credible picture and vision of possibilities and likelihoods, and recommend strategy based on pros/cons * Broad knowledge and perspective; Already a subject matter expert with depth in a specific area of e-commerce, or broad knowledge across e-commerce; most proposed solutions/decisions turn out to be correct * Able to balance competing interests/goals to define crawl/walk/run execution plan to achieve business needs for a particular initiative * Able to prioritize major scope areas for particular project, making appropriate decisions on biggest impact for appropriate cost/timeline * Strong understanding of relevant technology capabilities/constraints with our platforms; familiarity with common web/mobile platforms/techniques; have a gut feel for how hard it is to deliver specific enhancement requests * Proactively reads/learns about new technology developments in the market; attends conferences; listens to IT partners to gain broader understanding of our systems; sees how things interconnect * Build relationships with key go-to developers; can have short-hand conversations with developers when issues arise * Manage all project contributors and overall project timeline/deliverables/issues/risks; proactively identify necessary resources for executing project * Define necessary deliverables and timeframes, often with multiple threads of work; set goals/objectives for deliverables; able to provide quality feedback * Communicate project objectives clearly to team, and ensure everyone on same page; can work through goal/timeline issues with minimal guidance * Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups * More creative and sophisticated level of problem-solving; Able to balance all the constraints/opportunities across constituencies * Strong individual contributor, needing very little oversight or support; self-directed * Quickly pick up new projects/initiatives even without extensive preparation * Know innately when/how to communicate, and when to escalate; dont need to ask * Able to synthesize across a project what is going on to be able to articulate the opportunities and challenges * Can effectively present to executives and represent a point of view with little to no help from senior management; Can tailor the message for the audience level of detail and content - by thinking about audience's interests (WIFM - what's in it for me) * Identify, understand and manage impacts and interdependencies across teams, domains, channels * Able to work with peers to effectively assess inter-dependencies, assign ownership and seamlessly deliver cross-team solutions; leverage each others' talents effectively; provide peer coaching * Make decisions and influence others based on innate understanding of our client
Ideal Candidate
**Additional notes:** * Additional experience required: User center design principle, prototyping, working with designers. * This is a pure execution role. They strategy is already created * They are not looking for a PdM coming from a IT/Dev background * Someone who can articulate requirements in a sprint style format. Someone who can write stories and have the ability to quantify the story. * Someone who is able to paint the vision of what they need * Internal/External Groups with which the Candidate will * UX * Creative * Store * Call Center * Analytics, etc. **Required Skills (Top 3 to 5):** * Being able to communicate to diverse group; management, stakeholders and multiple others. * Knowing their audience and how to communicate is important for their success. * A deep understanding of user experience (design and technology) They want a designer who wants to understand technology. Not looking or someone technical wanting to understand design. * Experience writing Jira stories, getting into the details. * Senior PdM with 7+ years of experience
