Summary
The Business Developer is responsible for proactive outbound prospecting, qualifying and lead management, focusing on setting appointments, demonstrations and driving sales closure. The BD develops a pipeline of prospective clients by calling and positioning incentive products and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions within small to medium organizations.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified leads through previous contacts, cold calling, attending industry trade shows and working leads from web, direct mail and other marketing campaigns. * Follow up on Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) and active prospects within the database of business leads resulting in appointments, live demonstrations and sales closure. * Aggressively work the pipeline to consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue quotas. * Obtain the maximum sales and services revenue from each account and sales opportunity through recognition of broader needs and adherence to approved pricing. * Develop and maintain detailed opportunity matrixes for key target accounts to insure that the appropriate sales support resources and strategies are applied. * Execute on sales/marketing plans to achieve sales/marketing objectives and provide accurate and timely reports/forecasts. * Track and report calls per day, presentations/conversations per day, leads placed in the funnel, call-backs, voice mails in SFDC system. * Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. **Essential Job Functions:** * Relevant experience in Software Sales (SaaS a plus). * Familiarity with Salesforce or comparable CRM. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially as it relates to technology. * Experience with in-person and online sales presentations, including the use of online screen-sharing tools. * Consultative sales approach; ability to identify client needs and challenges, and to turn those into solutions. * Proven business acumen, with the ability to position solution value. * Ability to build consistent new revenue pipeline. * Link appropriate solution or product set to client program requirements. * Persuasively communicate solutions in terms of value, return and impact on client business.
