Summary
This position coordinates the performance of internal audit examinations ensuring the timely and professional execution of the examinations in accordance with professional standards.
Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate and execute the completion of internal audit examinations and validation procedures in accordance with the department’s audit methodology and professional standards. * Communicate recommendations to improve internal controls and reduce risk to Line Management. * Supervise Assistant Senior Auditors and Staff Auditors as needed. * Works with the Manager to establish appropriate budgets and timeframes. * Organizes and completes work accordingly. * Participate in special projects, investigations and initiatives as necessary. * Interact and coordinate with peers and all levels of management to achieve high quality results. * This position takes responsibility for identifying and effectively communicating control deficiencies. * Lack of appropriate controls could lead to monetary loss for the Bank and/or regulatory criticism, which could result in a decrease to the Bank's rating by the Federal Reserve Bank. * This position directly communicates with Senior, Middle and Line Management and External Auditors. * This position is responsible for the daily supervision of professional audit staff. * This position is responsible for supervising two to three professional staff.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of a degee 4 years of work experience. 2 or more years of experience in auditing, risk management, and/or finance. * MBA * A broad risk management background with exposure to different types of risk (credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, etc.) ideally gained through second line of defense oversight. * Familiarity with risk management concepts and tools such as risk adjusted return, economic capital, PD, LGD, VaR, RWAs, and risk reporting. * Understanding/familiarity of relevant regulatory regimes (CCAR, Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing, Basel 2, Basel 3 and Standardized Approaches, etc.). * Relevant professional certification (CPA, FRM, CIA, CRMA, CFE, CRP, etc.). * Advanced knowledge of audit theory or banking industry. * Demonstrated skill to step back and conceptualize big picture risks
