Summary
The New York Fed is seeking a Risk Management Associate with experience in operational risk, compliance and/or internal audit to assist the Risk Management team in its work for the Cash and Custody function.
Responsibilities
* Assess and assist with the management of the Risk Management program in the Cash and Custody function. * Liaison to Internal Audit, central Risk functions, and other external audit communities. * Assist in the preparation of Risk Assessments and consult with operational areas on the risk management activities and practices with a focus on compliance and operational risk. * Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reviews and provide support to developing fixes to ensure the business areas remain in compliance. * Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the business areas with regards to the business’ policies, rules and regulations. * Participate on offsite inventory reviews. * Monitor open and pending issues in Audit reporting applications. * Support the operations in activities including, process analysis and various research and monitoring activities.
Ideal Candidate
* A minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience with a demonstrated ability evaluating risk management and compliance practices and processes, ideally in a highly regulated operational environment (ie Pharmaceutical, manufacturing) * Undergraduate Degree in Business or other related field, MBA preferred. * Experience in taking an analytical approach to evaluating an operational business * Understanding of risk and control disciplines including financial key controls (Sarbanes-Oxley (AS/5)), technology controls and business continuity. * Risk Management/Audit Certification preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge of operations risk management and compliance practices. * Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. * Ability to analyze and interpret financial and non-financial data, as well as policy issues. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong project management and process improvement skills. * Exceptional interpersonal, diplomacy and customer service skills. * Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Access and Word. * Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally when necessary (Minimal Travel).
