Information Technology is at the core of transforming our Advanced Manufacturing into “Brilliant Factory”. GE Healthcare is looking for a Lead Developer to partner with supply chain operations and the functional team to enable the next Industrial Revolution to digitally integrate the shop floor with the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Focused on real-time shop floor analytics and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), automatic identification and data collection, and similar initiatives will bring our production facilities into the digital age and this role will be front and center on setting, identifying opportunities and leading implementation on these exciting programs. In this role, the Lead Developer will be responsible for building solutions for big data and analytics implementation for GE Healthcare initiatives fostering alignment of information technology with operations technology. The candidate will partner closely with various Functional Leaders and IT organizations to drive digitization efforts. In addition, you will:

  • Partner with supply chain and functional team to define requirements and develop the “Brilliant Factory” big data and analytics solutions
  • Leads the technical architecture of Internet of Things implementations
  • Analyze business needs as it relates to our implementation of various technologies; lead development efforts on ThingWorx and Tableau platforms
  • Devise a technical architecture to serve the business needs and create implementation plans and communicate to stakeholders
  • Partner with internal IT resources, R&D engineers, field service, and external platform vendors to execute the implementation plan
  • Key responsibilities include requirements gathering, data analysis, design document creation, communication with local and off-site IT resources for data extracts and interface design, software development, and post-implementation support
  • Using well established software engineering principles, design software using modern object oriented languages and web services platforms
  • Runs platform on the server
  • Testing & Validation
  • Troubleshooting gaps in systems outputs
  • Troubleshooting system performance issues
  • Training others to properly use the system
  • Overcoming obstacles and barriers to implementation progress
Ideal Candidate
  • Develop understanding of all GE Healthcare policies related to IT and establish metrics to support compliance activities and/or needs
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Significant experience of JavaScript software engineering
  • Significant experience with HTML and CSS development
  • Significant experience using Web Services implementing SOAP protocol
  • Some experience of Java, J2EE software engineering
  • Some experience of XML architecture
  • Some experience developing software that interacts with Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL databases
  • Some experience of business and systems analysis
  • Experience of software quality assurance and validation
  • Significant experience installing and configuring Apache web servers and Tomcat application servers
  • Significant experience using Microsoft Office, Visio
  • The candidate must provide a high level of competency in architecture creation and software engineering implementation
  • Proven ability to effectively deliver results as required
  • Ability to effective operate in a team
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to operate independently under pressure
  • Leading change
  • Demonstrating high level of cultural awareness
  • Train system users

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Black Belt certified
  • Hands on experience with analytical tools
  • Significant experience working with the PTC ThingWorx environment, including software installation, creation of mash-ups, development of extensions, and collaborative building of interfaces
  • Leadership Training Program Experience (ITLP, OMLP, FMP)
  • Lean experience
  • PMP / ITIL certified
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry
