Summary
Lend Lease Development Inc. is seeking a Project Design Manager to join its dynamic team in Boston. Join us as we embark on a journey to change the way people live, work and play. **Purpose:** The role of the Project Design Manager is to Manage the design of multiple projects resulting in the completion of projects in accordance with approved design standards and procedures, development cost budgets, and time schedules. Ability to manage a design team from conception through to delivery execution with a collaborative style, with a high value on relationships (both internal and external), high-quality design, innovation & sustainability.
Responsibilities
* Prepare massing and zoning analysis of new sites and projects for potential acquisition, including project size and site requirements, and applicable approvals and permits. * Organize and manage design charettes to define and align project vision with ownership & stakeholders. * Manage the regular coordination of design, scope, schedule & cost * Assist in the preparation of Soft Cost Budgets, and the selection of architects, and other design consultant candidates for each project. * Provide direction to project architects and engineers in the preparation of plans and submittals, and review all plans and submittals for compliance with Lendlease standards and owner direction. * Participate in continual Value Engineering sessions to assure the overall design goals are met. * Assist in preparation of development briefs, and on-going coordination & management of an integrated project schedule for development, design and construction milestones. * Provide support in establishing scope of service and appropriate budgets for services by Project Architect, Project Designer and other design professionals. * Review the design concepts, floorplans, section, elevations, and other drawings for the Project and provide feedback, design suggestions and alternatives to assist in meeting owner goals for the Project. * Implement tools, process and technology for document management control and RFI management. Coordinate design and consultant teams to establish BIM model and execution strategy.
Ideal Candidate
**Attributes:** * Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively through drawings, presentations and in writing. Strong graphic presentation * Advanced knowledge of residential architectural design, layout of residential floorplans, MEP & Structural plans and systems, and materials to carryout design intent. * Strong Organizational skills * Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines **Qualifications:** * A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in hi-rise residential project design for an architect or real estate developer owner * Must have Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field * Ability to use Revit, Photoshop, In Design, AutoCAD
