Summary
Parsons is providing architectural and engineering design services for various Federal clients like the Department of Energy and Department of Defense. Parsons requires an Architect to complete a wide variety of challenging assignments.
Responsibilities
* Use of Revit and 3ds Max * Utilize BIM technologies in development of three dimensional models of buildings and their components. Resolving clash detection within the BIM model * Ability to use AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu * Participate in client programming requirement meetings and charrettes * Strong understanding of the International Building Codes * Recommendation and selection of building systems and materials * Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details * Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) * Coordinate civil engineering work as it relates to the building design * Coordinate and direct external consultants including evaluation of quality and progress of work * Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs * Participate in value engineering analysis and basic cost estimating * Assist in the preparation of specifications in coordination with building plans and the specifications writer. Knowledge of SpecsIntact is preferred * Participate in constructability review * Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects * Some travel required
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required with 10 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree and 8+ years related experience. Professional registration is required at this level. * Experienced in client interaction * Experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) * Experience with DrChecks is preferred * Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required * Applicants selected for employment may be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information or materials. * Strong organizational, oral and communication skills * Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects. and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines
