Alcoa Fastening Systems & Rings (AFSR) has an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to develop inspection and testing methods, and interpret industry and customer product evaluation requirements. This position is located in our Rochester, NY aerospace manufacturing facility.
- Conducts internal and external quality audits
- Applies Lean-Manufacturing principals.
- Develop corrective action processes and continuous improvement programs for supply base.
- Perform quality review and disposition of non-conforming material and generate corresponding reports.
- Process systems and physical inventory of non-conforming material.
- Maintain the MRB spreadsheet with accurate data.
- Conduct scrap walk (non-conforming materials review).
- Process, investigate and disposition RMA’s (customer returns).
- Interface, investigate and complete both internal and external corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance to Alcoa and customer quality system requirements
- Continuous Improvement of Processes
- Generate sketches of dimensional non-conforming material
- Produce daily/monthly/quarterly reports for scrap/rework and submittal/concession
- Generate analysis of data for improvements and action improvements to completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must meet the requirements pertaining to vision Acuity Testing under the Quality Assurance Manual.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of Quality experience in Manufacturing
- Must meet the requirements pertaining to vision Acuity Testing under the Quality Assurance Manual.
- Prefer the Bachelors Degree is in Engineering or similar technical discipline
- Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC, FMEA preferred
- Quality Engineering experience in the Aerospace or Forging industries preferred
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of geometric dimension and tolerance principles
- Experienced with the use measuring devices common to the manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of ISO9000 and AS9100 quality standards and material specifications
- Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel and Word
- Tier One Aerospace DSQR Certification preferred.
