Responsibilities
* Manage AWS Environments. * Manage Hardware environments (SAN, VMWare, etc.) * Manage our core switching and routing infrastructure. * Manage the creation of development, staging and production environments. * Automate configuration management and deployments. KRS uses modern tools: Chef, Docker, Terraform, Vagrant and AWS. * Design and set up automated monitoring of production software. * Troubleshoot production software issues. * Design, setup and write scripts for automated acceptance tests of deployment scripts. * Manage continuous build server. * Manage persistence layers (MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL.) * Provide technical leadership and system engineering innovation to manage, scale, and continuously improve large-scale distributed computing solutions * Maintain and optimize backup systems. * Test and verify backup systems and Disaster Recovery implementations. * Implement and maintain a monitoring platform to analyze traffic patterns, systems availability and key business metrics. * Promote systems and network security. * Develop custom tools and automate processes. * Document system design and procedures. * 24x7 on call rotation for production server support.
Ideal Candidate
KickBack Rewards Systems (KRS) is hiring for our DevOps Engineering team. KickBack is looking for a technical leader with proficiencies in DevOps tooling, network administration and, Linux server administration. This is a full-time staff position. KRS will not consider outsourced or software development contracts. * 2+ years of experience in Linux server administration. * Skilled with Linux/Unix standard services (Nginx, Apache, HAProxy, DNS, etc.) * Expert in using modern code control tools (git) * Solid understanding of fundamental protocols and technologies like TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, and DNS. * Strong Unix/Linux knowledge of system, shell and platform tools * AWS services experience and competence for S3, EC2, VPC using Console and standard tools. * Competent programming skills in at-least one of Python, Ruby, C and Shell scripting. * Competence with deployment automation script creation and usage with AWS and various container environments (e.g. Docker, Chef, Vagrant, AWS Cloud formation.) * Manage development systems like build server, code repository, etc. * Strong networking skills * Excellent communication skills
