Senior UX Designer

Kahuna is the trusted leader for successful marketers and product managers to delight their customers in the mobile era. We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer in our Redwood City, CA office who will own and help build the user experience function.

It will be your job to envision how our customers experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and even magical. What you get to do every day:

• Work on various web and mobile application interfaces

• Create designs, icons, and layouts that adhere to and extend the app leading and managing large design initiatives

• Translate discussions into leading app designs and layouts

• Generate detailed specs of final designs that allow devs to build accurately

• Work with developers to deliver a polished final product

• Evangelize new interface guidelines and design patterns

• Recruit and mentor new members of design staff during onboarding

What you bring to the role:

• BS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related or equivalent experience required/ MS preferred

• MINIMUM of 5+ years of experience delivering clean design in a commercial Software entity Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and design tools such as OmniGraffle

• Able to successfully manage all aspects of a design project from concept to completion

• Self-motivated, with strong communication skills, comfortable taking direction from other key stakeholders

• Strong understanding of the balance between great design vs. meeting deadlines and business deliverables

• Can produce results independently as well as collaboratively within the team

• Expertise in the psychology behind information visualization

• Experience designing enterprise dashboards and reports for large data sets

• Expert understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices

• Ability to communicate your ideas to a wide variety of key stakeholders

• Lead and manage large design initiatives Icon design, Analytic/Infographic design, Mobile App design

• Experience with digital marketing and pattern libraries a plus
