Summary
Responsible for the process of new business applications and requests for changes, disbursement of values and cancellations of annuity, supplementary contracts and repetitive pay contracts. Duties include reviewing annuity applications and request forms to ensure that all questions have been answered and requirements are met; verify legitimacy of signatures; submit, issue and mailout annuity contracts, examine data on annuity contract changes, change annuity records to conform to annuity specifications, plan guidelines, and government regulatory codes, issues Supplementary Contracts for life and annuity settlement options, and maintains Repetitive Payment Systems (RPS). Works with multi-tasks and basic transactions.
Responsibilities
* Reports directly to Team Leader, Life Service and Annuity, from whom all overall work direction is received. * Process transactions for customers such as new business, not takens, delivery requirements, address changes, beneficiary changes, name changes, ownership changes, duplicate policies, internal and external1035 Exchanges, deferrals, maturities, mode changes, distributions/withdrawals, surrenders supplementary contacts, return mail, correspondence, audits, reviews annual tax reports, maintains manual reports for team. * Calculates and applies deposits/payments, refunds, and makes adjustments to policy values. * Responds to annuitants, policyowners, agents/field force, other departments, and other interested parties outside the company; pertaining to annuity questions received by phone and email. * Completes manual accounting needed to ensure clearing, transfers and balancing of Company accounts. * Researches and performs investigation to present solutions in resolving system errors, deposits/payments, payouts, billings, maturities, annuity values, and other discrepancies. * Handles exceptions within management guidelines and assists team members with processing basic transactions; performs other duties as assigned by management.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent **Experience:** * Prior Life/Annuity or office experience preferred, not required. Must be able to effectively utilize computer systems required for essential job functions. Prior experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Cyberlife, Annuity System. Requires effective keyboarding skills. **Skills/Knowledge:** * Must obtain a basic understanding of annuity products, policies and provisions, and IRS codes and regulations. * Requires the ability to multi-task along with excellent organizational skills to prioritize work/projects and meet multiple deadlines when performing the various tasks of the department and job. * Must be proactive, reliable and accountable self-starter with the ability to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to set own priorities; exercise initiative and judgment in making decisions within the scope of assigned authority; and able to substantiate these decisions. * Requires attention to detail and accuracy as errors could result in inaccuracies in records or reports as well as loss of time and money. Ability to use emotional maturity, patience and understanding when working with customers which includes the need to remain calm and react quickly under pressure. * Requires skill in attentive and active listening; patience to hear people out and accurately restating the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees. * Demonstrated multifaceted oral and written communication skills specific to creating and fostering a learning environment that focuses on customer service and its continuous improvement. * Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles to obtain the desired effect. * Must maintain effective team relationships while establishing and building working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and many other external/internal contacts. * Requires comprehensive math skills to solve basic problems with effective solutions. * Requires the incumbent to continue professional development by attending enhancement courses offered through the Home Office. * Must show evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
