Summary
Due to growth, Hometown America is adding a Financial Analyst position at its corporate office in Chicago (northwest loop). In this role, you will be responsible for providing analytical, reporting and budgeting support to the asset management, acquisitions, operations and sales functions.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support senior staff with all aspects of budgeting and forecasting activities, including standard monthly management reporting and variance analyses and longer term budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning initiatives across different departments and business units; * Develop financial models; research, analyze and make recommendations to ensure attainment of critical financial objectives; * Conduct and document simple to moderate financial analysis and adhoc projects; * Manage competitive rent survey process; * Prepare communications and reports for senior management.
Ideal Candidate
* 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, underwriting or similar financial position, preferably within the real estate industry and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. * Requires knowledge of financial terms, concepts and accounting principles with ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret and extract data from various spreadsheets and/or real estate documents and reports, such as financial statements, property due diligence reports and contracts. * Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively present information to senior management. * Strong work ethic, detail oriented, and organized with ability to manage multiple and changing priorities and to work collaboratively to achieve results. * Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Excel. * High level of integrity and ethics and ability to make decisions with general understanding of procedures and policies to achieve results and deadlines.
