Summary
We are currently seeking a Sr Accountant to join our team. As a Sr Accountant, you will be responsible for providing support in all tax issues and taking ownership of various tax filings.
Responsibilities
* Manage the annual budgeting process for all corporate overhead departments and cost centers; maintain current and accurate records of all corporate expenditures and perform variance analysis; assist departmental leaders with planning and budget process. Assist with answering questions and providing in-depth analysis as needed. * Manage state and local tax audits. * Prepare sales/use tax and personal property tax returns. * Design and create firm-wide and business unit financial reports and complete large analytical projects as needed using complex spreadsheets and specialized software packages. * Maintain records for preparation of federal, state, and local taxes. * Collect, analyze and interpret complex financial and statistical data. * Research and gather historical data for analysis. * Other financial accounting duties as assigned. * May provide accounting support to other staff as needed. * May educate and/or guide non-financial staff on accounting procedures. * Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills** * Advanced knowledge and experience with all Microsoft Office applications; Expert level with Excel required. * Experience with enterprise software systems; demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems. * Experience with Deltek Vision software preferred. * Excellent interpersonal skills with various members of staff/management. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work effectively and positively with members of the corporate leadership team and business unit leaders across the firm. * Ability to work independently and take initiative. **Required Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. * 6 plus years of corporate or public accounting experience. * Thorough understanding of GAAP. * Experience in tax accounting. * Professional services firm experience preferred.
