Summary
The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the application of accounting principles and practices to a variety of issues and transactions, including general ledger accountability, financial reporting, financial profitability analysis and special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
* Analyze financial information and determine most effective means of handling and processing accounting transactions * Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy * Assist in preparing monthly internal reporting and analysis for the senior management team * Assist with annual audit of the consolidated financial statements * Responsible for maintenance and analysis of assigned general ledger accounts * Prepare revenue recognition reconciliation and record revenue/deferred revenue journal entries * Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis * Prepare commission calculations * Maintain bank accounts * Review bank statements and perform bank reconciliations
Ideal Candidate
* Must have an Accounting degree * At least 4 years of relevant experience * 2 years in public accounting preferred * MBA or CPA certification is a plus * Ability to perform complex accounting transactions and analysis * Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines * Accuracy in daily work and other projects * Extreme attention to detail * Must be able to work independently and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills * Strong communications/writing skills * Strong computer skills (Excel, Word) * Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions * Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees * Ability to function as a team player
