Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the application of accounting principles and practices to a variety of issues and transactions, including general ledger accountability, financial reporting, financial profitability analysis and special projects as assigned.
- Analyze financial information and determine most effective means of handling and processing accounting transactions
- Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Assist in preparing monthly internal reporting and analysis for the senior management team
- Assist with annual audit of the consolidated financial statements
- Responsible for maintenance and analysis of assigned general ledger accounts
- Prepare revenue recognition reconciliation and record revenue/deferred revenue journal entries
- Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis
- Prepare commission calculations
- Maintain bank accounts
- Review bank statements and perform bank reconciliations
- Must have an Accounting degree
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
- 2 years in public accounting preferred
- MBA or CPA certification is a plus
- Ability to perform complex accounting transactions and analysis
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
- Accuracy in daily work and other projects
- Extreme attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communications/writing skills
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees
- Ability to function as a team player
