Summary
The primary focus of this contract position is to assist with preparation of SEC filings and other financial reporting requirements, research accounting guidance, and other reporting related activities for the Enbridge Energy financial reporting group. This contract position will also maintain and apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and review of Form 10-Q and Form 10-K reports, as well as various other external reporting requirements. - Coordinate and prepare the financial information provided to corporate departments such as Legal, Treasury, Tax and General Ledger groups. - Prepare various internal reports/analytics for management reporting and the Board of Directors packets. - Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) internal control documentation and coordination with external auditors, as it relates to this position. - Assist with accounting research activities FASB pronouncements and assist other accounting groups with correct and timely implementation. - Assist with reviewing and overseeing the completion of XBRL for SEC filings.
Ideal Candidate
- XBRL experience highly preferred. Four-year university degree in Accounting. - Four (4) or more years of experience required; public accounting experience or energy industry experience highly desirable. - Self-motivated, detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work. - Professional designation (CPA or MBA). - Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP. - Strong analytical, computer and writing skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
