Responsibilities
The CFO will be responsible for providing hands-on leadership in the company’s strategic growth. This position will develop and manage a capital plan to support and promote the company’s entry into new markets and expanded development efforts in its existing footprint. This position includes the management of three employees, and will be responsible for managing the balance sheet and risk exposure of the company and the managed portfolio, investor and lender relations, as well as oversight of the accounting and tax functions. **Key Job Responsibilities:** Capital Raising, Investor Relations * Develop relationships with capital partners to support annual development opportunites * Develop and execute strategy for building and funding a real estate asset portfolio through acquisition * Establish and maintain relationships with banks, institutional and private equity providers * Facilitate closing of all debt and equity transactions including negotiation of all partnership and loan documents * Oversee reporting to investors and lenders for the managed portfolio Managing Balance Sheet and Risk Exposure * Manage overall debt of the portfolio including interest rate exposure, lines of credit, corporate recourse, guarantees and access to debt markets * Oversee financial underwriting of corporate and project financing transactions (acquisition and development) * Maximize the performance and value of the company’s portfolio of real estate holdings * Plan and direct the company’s overall financial plans, policies and practices * Provides key business/financial acumen to ensure company’s future growth * Oversee insurance and risk management practices Accounting, Control and Taxes Leadership * Oversee treasury, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting * Oversee audit, compliance, and tax functions
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years commercial real estate experience MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred * Strong finance background, banking relationships, and acquisition experience * Strong ethical makeup and reputation * Demonstrated strong leadership skills with ability to be productive in a collaborative environment * Self-starter, able to excel in entrepreneurial environment * Creative, strategic thinker who will take initiative * Hands-on style, unconcerned with organizational rank * Excellent negotiation skills * Proven ability to manage and develop a professional staff **Other Comments:** * There is a strong preference for local candidates.
