Summary
We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Marketing Manager/Senior Marketing Manager to join the PERFUMERY DIVISION at our North American headquarters located in Princeton, New Jersey. As a Marketing Manager/Senior Marketing Manager (position commensurate with experience), you will join a close-knit North American Marketing team that is part of a larger, highly-networked Global Marketing Team. We help to make Firmenich the reference and preference for our CPG clients who utilize our fragrances and fragrance technologies within their products. We bring fragrance to life as an integral part of the product. Our marketing approach is business to business with a strong understanding and focus on the end consumer. The ideal candidate will display a balance between strategic and creative marketing sensibilities, with the ability to both create original content and adapt existing content to multiple audiences. You must be able to engage, inspire and think on your feet in front of senior level clients. You should have a collaborative mindset, working to bring together the best output of a cross-functional team including consumer insights, fragrance development, research & development, and sales. The position requires a hands on approach to a broad spectrum of simultaneous activities, from creating showcase events to tracking and analyzing market products and data. You should be comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Successful candidates may come from a variety of marketing, advertising and CPG-related backgrounds. Interest in fragrance and/or knowledge of CPG brands is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
Responsibilities
- Provide marketing expertise across categories and clients, with a focus on the North American Market but with some Global considerations. Categories may include Fabric Care, Household Care, Air Care, Hair Care and Men’s Grooming. - Utilize internal and external data sources to develop and lead fragrance marketing strategy to develop market overviews and analyses of category dynamics and trends, and help shape category plans - Stay abreast of and share emerging marketing trends and socio-economic trends, applying these trends to appropriate categories - Interpret trends to match gaps in segments to proactively focus on potential client opportunities - Develop strategic creative concepts and presentations with supporting visuals for internal and external clients - Interpret clients' needs and translate them into winning fragrance and fragrance technology marketing strategies - Work with client to enhance consumer understanding of fragrances, the creative process and trends - Contribute to global category plans, global client strategy and concept development, and marketing support activities
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum BS/BA degree (Business/Marketing) - 5-7 year’s experience - Competency regarding brands/branding - A self-starter; driven - Fragrance, consumer package goods or advertising experience - Exposure to or passion for fragrance; scent involvement inclination - Ability to work under tight time pressure; ability to handle multiple projects - Strong cross-functional partnering and communication skills - Demonstrated creativity and ideation skills - Excellent computer proficiency and Microsoft Powerpoint, word and Excel
