Summary
Ellie Mae product managers are responsible for the success of Ellie Mae mortgage automation software products from inception through development and release, continuing with ongoing maintenance and enhancement. Product managers proactively work with customers and prospects to incorporate product feedback with their in-depth knowledge of changing mortgage industry and technology trends. They ensure Ellie Mae products exceed the needs of our customers and remain the most innovative in the industry. Further, they collaborate with multiple teams at Ellie Mae to ensure our customers are aware of and trained on new products and product enhancements. The Encompass Product and Pricing Product Manager will drive the product strategy and requirements for features and products with specific focus on loan quality, for both lenders and investors.
Responsibilities
* Consolidate input from multiple channels, both internal and external, to solidify detailed feature requirements through user stories and/or functional specifications * Maintains product strategy, defines and prioritizes the roadmap and product backlog * Coordinates with the development team to deliver enhancements and bug fixes * Work with legal, sales, customer service and customers to understand issues and minor enhancement requests * Maintains up-to-date knowledge regarding mortgage industry and technology trends as well as the Ellie Mae product line and competitor products * Provide assistance to support and sales teams in order to assist customers with detailed product questions, acting as top tier for complicated support escalations * Responsible for product delivery, adoption and growth * Evangelizes product area among customers, prospects, and colleague * Maintains vendor relationships (as appropriate)
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 4 or more years of mortgage banking experience, especially within product and pricing, compliance, operations management, underwriting, or loan origination system administration * 2 or more years as a product manager or software business analyst preferred * Must have experience developing and detailing software product requirements * Ability to analyze and clearly communicate business requirements as a key input to the product development process * Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, legal, development, quality assurance, support, marketing and sales * Self-motivated as well as a strong team player * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills * Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or an engineering discipline required. MBA preferred
