Summary
The Corporate Budget Analyst will be responsible for driving the annual budget process. The candidate will work closely with Company Executives and Management team, as well as the FP&A team throughout the process. The candidate will also be managing the conversion to a cloud-based CPM (Corporate Performance Management) Software. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for various modeling and analytics tasks, including monthly forecasting, ad hoc projects, modeling, internal management reporting, lender reporting, and providing support to the CFO and Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, intellectual curiosity, modeling and analytical skills, great communication skills, and the ability to think fluidly during presentations and conversations. Self-motivated individual will be required to organize, plan, and execute assigned duties to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities in a dynamic environment. The position will require vision for process/approach development, technical skills to pull and organize data, analytical experience to understand the data, and communication skills to summarize and present to the target management audience. The ability to work quickly and under pressure are requirements for the position. The position reports to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.
Responsibilities
* Create ad hoc financial models and scenario analysis supported by sound business reasoning to facilitate strategic discussions and decisions by the management team * Process manage and drive the consolidation of the annual budget, strategic planning, and regular forecasting process including revenue, headcount planning, departmental expenses, balance sheet and cash flow * Develop and maintain the long term financial model * Manage the company conversion to a CPM software (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar) * Perform variance and bridging analysis related to operational performance vs. plan * Support comprehensive monthly and quarterly business operations and metrics reporting for management, the Board of Directors, and lenders. * Work functionally across all levels of the organization to proactively identify opportunities to create and improve business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of various business functions.
Ideal Candidate
**Education/Experience Requirements:** * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or relevant field OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities; MBA and/or CPA a plus * 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible analytical experience including two years performing work involving the preparation, justification, analysis, auditing, and/or the control and administration of a budget or budgetary program. * Excellent communication skills, ability to work well with all levels and departments within the company * Experience working in a high pressure/high growth environment is required. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** * Strong financial planning skills with ability to understand the details and identify the impact on the "big picture" * Excellent analytical skills: Ability to take voluminous amounts of financial data and/or combine disparate and disjointed data to develop a meaningful analysis that can be effectively presented to the executive team within a short period * Advanced/expert knowledge of Microsoft tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. * Results oriented, process thinker with organized & strategic approach to problem solving * Ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities * Thorough understanding of financial modeling, business decision modeling and budgeting * Highest level of professional and ethical performance standards * Passionate, energetic, dedicated and enthusiastic team player * Review operating budgets periodically to analyze trends affecting budget needs * Review opportunities to drive cost reduction/optimization
