Summary

The Purchasing Assistant's primary role is to support the purchasing team to ensure they provide the right product at the right price at the right time to meet their goals of customer satisfaction, inventory optimization and margin maximizing.

Responsibilities
  • On Time Delivery:ensure timely receipt of requested product for customers.
  • Vendor Relations:create and maintain vendor partnerships to ensure they have the right cost with the best-in-class products.
  • Collaborate with team to create and enhance programs to evaluate services, maintain stock and price, and explore rebate opportunities.
  • Inventory Management: ensure accuracy of incoming product, and timeliness to attention of incorrect or damaged products.
  • Continuous Improvement: improve processes to increase productivity and efficiency by continually finding ways to "work smarter, not harder."
Ideal Candidate
  • 2-year or 4-year business degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year purchasing experience required.
  • Experience working with numbers and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Intermediate level computer skills required for Microsoft Excel.
