Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: As a Desk Property Adjuster you will be working within our TPA department. Cross training on various programs will take place, and your daily routine will vary, based on the business needs. One key component of this position will be the utilization of cutting edge technology to address property claims in a new and challenging way. Other components will be coverage analysis, claim settlement as well as claim payments. This position requires prior property field experience and an understanding of the full claims process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Examines claim form, policy and other records to determine insurance coverage - Consistently produces high quality product with superior customer service that is timely and responsive - Interviews, telephones or corresponds with claimant and witness; consults policies; inspects property damage to determine extent of client’s liability - Prepares reports Responsible for maintaining assignments within the Link System and according to the Best Practices as defined by CLUS - Identifies subrogation issues and prepares subrogation notifications as directed by client - Prepares estimates of damages to property - Obtains reports from experts as requested and secures reports on incidents or accidents investigated by local, regional and national authorities - Assists in marketing for the branch as well as for him/herself
Ideal Candidate
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) from four-year college or university - Three (3) to five (5) plus years of property loss adjusting experience including large homeowners - Must hold adjuster’s license if required by state law and complete annual continuing education requirements - Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, manuals, safety rules and instructions - Strong computer skills such as spreadsheets and emails - Strong working knowledge of property estimating software such as Symbility, Simsol and/or Xactimate required - Must be organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
