The Public Sector landscape is transforming around the ways more information and better systems address insider and cyber threat detection, operational efficiency and information throughput, security intelligence and event management, and outcomes-driven predictive analytics. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to help Cloudera define new industry-specific solutions, dive deep into key vertical plays, and own organizational relevance marketing for the Public Sector audience. As Verticals Marketing Manager - Public Sector, you will combine your marketing experience, your familiarity with IT architecture, and your fluency with business models and strategies that are important to key government decision makers to drive messaging about Cloudera’s platform, products, and services. You will work closely with stakeholders in Field Customer Enablement, Sales, Business Development, Federal, SLED and broader Marketing organizations to define opportunities and execute programs that bring new solutions to market. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into relevant content, collateral, and marketing initiatives will have a measurable impact on Cloudera and its customers. Help shape the market and make an outsized impact at one of the world’s most disruptive and transformational technology companies. Candidates with a strong mix of core marketing experience, vertical insight, outcomes orientation, and problem-solving skills will excel. A team attitude, a good sense of humor, and a balance of player skills and coaching skills are imperative.
Responsibilities
* Content Marketing: develop high impact content - industry papers, solution briefs, slide presentations, thought leadership, web and social content, etc. to drive engagement and create customer journeys prioritizing business audiences * Go To Market: collaborate on the creation of public sector specific solutions and drive the internal and external go-to-market strategy and execution of solution plays * Field Enablement: train the sales and technical pre- and post-sales organizations on Cloudera’s value proposition, products, and solutions relative to public sector and business audiences * Industry Evangelism: represent Cloudera at conferences, tradeshows, and roadshows and to analysts, customers, and prospects * Strategy and Insights: Analyze market and company data alongside public sector trends & policies to define opportunities, audiences, objectives, threats, and priorities
Ideal Candidate
* Experience: at least three years of experience including some mix of Public Sector marketing for a technology company, a technical or business role in the Public Sector (or Civic/Advocacy Sector), and/or work at a start-up * Industry-Relevant Insight: fluency in the vocabulary, business drivers, actors and influencers, policies, technology, and trends affecting the Public Sector and related industries * Exceptional Written Skills: must be able to research and write industry-relevant content with little supervision and in relatively short timeframes * Strong Verbal Skills: must be comfortable presenting to a wide range of audiences, from senior executives to large conferences and from salespeople to technical professionals * Business Acumen: fluency with both technical and business concepts and a clear ability to translate between the two * Maturity: self-starter with a can-do attitude and an ability to prioritize * Basic HTML skills a plus * BA/BS required; MBA a plus (but not required) * Approximately 20% global travel should be expected
