Summary

The Account Manager will also be responsible for the recruitment of new members for annual membership. S/he will use their personal expertise, networking, member referrals, and independent research to identify and recruit new members. The Account Manager will also support organization-wide recruitment goals for sponsorship and the annual CGI America meeting.

In addition, s/he will be perform a variety of tasks related to account maintenance and prospect tracking such as updating data records, communicating information on accounts, monitoring status of member commitments, member list reviews, email outreach, external meeting coordination, and event logistics.

S/he will work alongside a team of fellow relationship managers within the Membership Department, and report directly to the Deputy Director of Member Relations, as well as the Director of Membership. " As part of the Membership Department, the Account Manager is responsible for the recruitment and management of a portfolio of CGI members. S/he will interface directly with members, providing expertise and advice in support of their engagement and to maximize their member experience. S/he is responsible for advocating for their members’ interests across the organization and designing opportunities that help them meet their goals, including member introductions, communications support, and commitment development. "

Responsibilities
  • Develop familiarity with the range of engagement opportunities at CGI including sponsorship levels, offered by all CGI platforms (Annual Membership, CGI America and CGI University), year-round areas of focus, and program content.
  • Provide proactive concierge service to navigate members through CGI’s diverse offerings and platforms, and facilitate member interactions with CGI staff across various departments, in particular the content-focused teams.
  • Provide on-site support at events, both directly to members and the Membership Team, as well as post-event correspondence and follow-up.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five to six years of work experience, preferably in relationship management and/or business development. Experience having responsibility for a small program or discreet piece of a larger program.
  • Proven track record in soliciting and securing members/donors/new business. Advanced oral and written communication skills needed for interactions with clients, prospects, and fellow staff members.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and internet research abilities. Knowledge of Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge or similar relational databases preferred plus.
  • Enjoys building relationships and working with clients to understand their goals and objectives.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and passionate work environment.
  • Experience and comfort with representing an organization externally.
  • Understands the key players and is sensitive to the complexities of international development.
  • Team player who values shared goals and contributing to the organization’s objectives.
  • Demonstrates a flexible and adaptive work style and the ability to work with individuals of varying working styles.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Enjoys project management and coordinating logistics.
  • Proven computer skills and comfort performing administrative tasks, including data management.
  • Event planning and customer service experience are preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task among various projects and responsibilities, with judgement to prioritize accordingly.

Will require travel, which may require walking distances, lifting & carrying luggage and boxes, and prolonged periods of sitting in tight quarters. Significant computer work, which may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands. Occasional lifting (greater than 50 lbs), bending, pulling, collating/filing, and occasional lifting, carrying, and/or moving boxes, files, etc., some of which could be heavy or require the use of carts.
