Senior DevOps Engineer

At Civis Analytics, we're building an end-to-end big data analysis platform, making cutting-edge machine learning and predictive modeling techniques available to a broad audience. Come help us deliver these capabilities at scale with a first-class infrastructure. As a member of the devops team, you'll be responsible for enhancing our underlying systems architecture, development environment, and release processes. Additionally, you’ll build infrastructure tools as well as automate our application and system deployments.

Civis Analytics is a team-based organization, and this role works collaboratively with other engineers, data scientists and analysts to design, manage and monitor our production environment. Ideal candidates will work well with others who approach problems from different perspectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related subject, or equivalent work experience
• Interest and ability to master new technologies
• Experience managing AWS cloud components
• Databases proficiency in SQL, administration, programmatic usage, analytics databases, and/or NoSQL
• Adept at using Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment systems, systems and application monitoring and Docker containers or Go
• Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, Ansible, etc.)
• Knowledgeable in Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash, or similar programming languages
• Understanding of IP networking concepts and protocol
