The Enterprise Central Next Generation Data Center team is seeking a Data Center TSA.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level and detailed consultative solutions, technical and sales support for selected major account opportunities. - Understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements. - Understand and Articulate Cisco's Architectures and Services. Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field. Create, present and document technical solutions. - Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. - Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, Cisco technology solutions, product requirements, and design validation) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership. - Provide consultative support to other Virtual Team Specialists and Systems Engineers. - Mentor other less experienced Systems Engineers in the assigned opportunities. - Exhibit leadership and be viewed as a leader by senior management, peers, partners, company and customers. - Publish white papers on given topics for internal or external use. - Gather product requirements from field and customer and submit findings to relevant BUs and Boards and Councils to drive Area or Operation business requirements. - Major account focus will require some travel responsibilities as well as virtual rich media presence for sales activities. - Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team(s) and/or Solutions Team(s).
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications** - 8+ years related experience. - Thorough competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings. - Extensive knowledge and experience with Data Center and Virtualization Technologies, Solutions, and Architectures. - Extensive experience selling Data Center and Virtualization technologies at the engineering level through the CxO level is desired. - Networking Protocols, design and products: Ethernet, IP, switching, routing, spanning tree, OTV, LISP, FabricPath, etc. - Storage networking protocols: Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS/CiFS, storage multi-pathing X86 hardware solutions. - Rack and blade server solutions from HP, IBM, Dell Firewalls/IPS, load balancers, WAN optimization, VMware: ESXi, vSwitch operations, SRM (site recovery manager), View, vCloud Cisco: Nexus, MDS, UCS, - Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources. - Cisco experience required. - Cisco product and end-to-end positioning required. - Competitive product experience required (HP, Juniper, Brocade, Riverbed, IBM, Dell, Arista). - Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCIE certification highly desirable and/or preferred. **Desired Skills** - Extensive knowledge of data center networking, storage, and computing technologies. - Disaster recovery solutions: backup/recovery, mirroring, active/standby, active/active - High availability architectures and clustering solutions (Oracle RAC, Veritas, et al.) - Applications: SAP, Microsoft, & Oracle suites primarily. RISC, mid-range, mainframe platforms - Virtualization: Hypervisors, server and desktop virtualization, Databases: Oracle, SQL, data warehousing/analytics solutions Middleware: Websphere, Weblogic, JBOSS, etc. - EMC, NetApp technologies and solutions primarily (Vblocks, FlexPods) Competitive offerings from HP, Juniper, Brocade, Riverbed, IBM, Dell, Arista, etc. - Client Desktops options and offerings (Windows, Citrix) - Public and Private Cloud offerings and ecosystems - Cisco: Nexus, ACI, ASA, AnyConnect, TrustSec - Familiarly with key Network Management and Automation tools like: Microsoft SCOM, BMC, HP Openview/Ops Center/Matrix/Insight Dynamics, IBM Tivoli, Service Catalogs, USC Director, Puppet, Chef. - Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills. - Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team. - Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills. - Ability to train and disseminate information within an Area or Operation. - Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.
