Summary
The Storage Architect is responsible for the design, deployment, and support of global infrastructure projects with a focus on storage and data protection. The position reports to the Director of Global Infrastructure & IT Operations and will work closely with the senior management team in developing the storage roadmap, strategy, and continuous improvement of the global data center.
Responsibilities
* Serves as the SME for Storage and Data Protection domains * Evaluate as-is technology and define a to-be strategy * Partners with fellow Architects in defining the global data center roadmap, design, and standards * Performs regular health checks and assessments of the global data center to ensure health and stability * Engages and consults internal teams and business partners in identifying key areas of improvement, business demand, priorities, and issues * Manages performance tuning and Capacity Planning of compute and storage resources * Participates in maintenance activities as needed or on a lead capacity * Documents current and future storage landscape
Ideal Candidate
* At least 10 years of relevant experience in designing, deploying, and supporting storage solutions * BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience is required * Significant hands-on experience with Storage technologies from NetApp, EMC, HDS, and their corresponding BCDR offerings * Diverse experience with data protection technologies such as CommVault, EMC NetWorker, and Symantec NBU as well as enterprise-class tape libraries * Expert knowledge of NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, SAN, Infiniband, and Storage Virtualization * Knowledgeable of Storage Tiering and HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) concepts * Working knowledge of OS (Windows, Linux, ESX, Hyper-V) from a storage perspective * Thorough understanding and experience with data center technologies outside of storage (compute, network, applications, etc) * Experience in virtualized environments and technologies * Experience in Engineering and Development environments * Proven ability to develop effective, matrixed, cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across business and technology stakeholders and multiple geographies * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels * Must be able to work under minimal and at times no supervision, determine personal work plan, and schedule tasks and activities.
