Senior Storage Virtualization Engineer

The flexible services architecture is cloud-based. This job is for the initiated engineer who has good software system, compute and cloud-based storage expertise, but equally important, can think out of the box and willing to take on new challenges. The candidate is expected to have experience in storage and compute technologies, and software defined storage, with working knowledge of Linux. He/She must also be able to assess performance, determine bottlenecks and develop performance characterization for workloads.

Key Responsibilities: * Candidate will be responsible for selecting or assisting in the selection of software defined storage technologies and compute platforms based on workload needs. * Candidate will be responsible for designing storage and benchmarking and characterizing performance of storage and CPUs for different workloads * Candidate will be responsible for the deep understanding of compute virtualization based on Linux containers and hypervisors (e.g., KVM) and the impact on performance

Qualifications: * Bachelor Degree or Master degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred. * 5+ year experience in compute and storage virtualization * Working knowledge in benchmarking storage, CPU and workload performance * Linux OS and drivers * Working knowledge of NFS, HADOOP, SQL, NoSQL. and graphDB database technologies * Working knowledge of software defined storage technologies such as CEPH, SWIFT, Cinder * Working knowledge of software defined storage orchestration and web servicesAPIs * Desirable working knowledge of storage products such as netapp, EMC products * Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. * Ability to prioritize and execute in a high pressure environment. * Ability to present concepts clearly * Team player
