DevOps Engineer

The Intersect Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a large company in the retail industry. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience with a mix of cloud and application server experience. This is a contract to hire position.

* Responsible for configuration, optimization, documentation and support of the infrastructure components of SAP’s HR and Finance systems. * Use DevOps principles and methodologies to enable the rapid deployment of software and services by coordinating software development, quality assurance, and IT operations (primarily focused on a HR Success Factors and Finance platform such as SAP) * Design and architect solutions for existing client facing hosted applications as they are moved into cloud environments such as AWS

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required * 5+ year’s progressive application development and integration experience, supporting large complex applications * 5+ years of middleware engineering experience * Must have sufficient knowledge in Object-oriented programming concepts; Java/JEE preferred * Must be an excellent team player working with multi-disciplinary teams (Developers, Architects, Operations and Testers) to fully automate and build out new application environments on the Cloud, spearheading automation and high performing system projects * Basic understanding of Networking Technologies like Load balancer, Firewall, VIP, DNS * Hands on experience with Linux and Windows environments. The environment is 100% Linux * Strong understanding and knowledge of Linux, Automation Tools (Ansible or Chef or Puppet), AWS Services (EC2, Network, ELB, S3/EBS, etc.) or similar Public Cloud platform, and scripting languages (Shell, Perl or other) is a must * Experience with relational databases a plus * Experience working in a team environment using a Source Configuration Management tool a plus (Subversion, Git, etc)
