Summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a large company in the retail industry. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience with a mix of cloud and application server experience. This is a contract to hire position.

Responsibilities

Responsible for configuration, optimization, documentation and support of the infrastructure components of SAP’s HR and Finance systems.
Use DevOps principles and methodologies to enable the rapid deployment of software and services by coordinating software development, quality assurance, and IT operations (primarily focused on a HR Success Factors and Finance platform such as SAP)
Design and architect solutions for existing client facing hosted applications as they are moved into cloud environments such as AWS

Ideal Candidate

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
*  5+ year’s progressive application development and integration experience, supporting large complex applications
*  5+ years of middleware engineering experience
*  Must have sufficient knowledge in Object-oriented programming concepts; Java/JEE preferred
*  Must be an excellent team player working with multi-disciplinary teams (Developers, Architects, Operations and Testers) to fully automate and build out new application environments on the Cloud, spearheading automation and high        performing system projects
*  Basic understanding of Networking Technologies like Load balancer, Firewall, VIP, DNS
*  Hands on experience with Linux and Windows environments. The environment is 100% Linux
*  Strong understanding and knowledge of Linux, Automation Tools (Ansible or Chef or Puppet), AWS Services (EC2, Network, ELB, S3/EBS, etc.) or similar Public Cloud platform, and scripting languages (Shell, Perl or other) is a must
*  Experience with relational databases a plus
*  Experience working in a team environment using a Source Configuration Management tool a plus (Subversion, Git, etc)
