Summary
Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM), the asset management arm of Charles Schwab Corporation, has approximately $250 Billion in assets under management (AUM) and is one of the nation’s largest retail money managers. CSIM provides a wide variety of products ranging from money market funds, index mutual funds, actively managed mutual funds, exchange traded funds and asset allocation fund-of-funds. As a provider of core investment products, CSIM is both an important enabler in fulfilling Schwab’s mission of helping everyone be financially fit and critical engine in the company’s profitability and growth.
Responsibilities
* Provide CSIM business leaders with decision support for product initiatives and analysis of product profitability * Lead quantitative and qualitative analyses and help evaluate new business opportunities in support of strategic and competitive growth initiatives * Analyze incentives and channel strategies in support of Sales and Marketing * Perform financial analysis and planning to develop strategic insights that will support decisions by Senior Management within CSIM. * Develop deep knowledge of CSIM business and products and become a valued thought partner with CSIM business partners and stakeholders in other areas of Schwab * Apply strong critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and high attention to detail in solving problems and reviewing financials. * Develop and present PowerPoint materials with clear and concise messages that resonate with a target audience, particularly Senior Leadership and fund Board of Trustees. * Ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables are on time and accurate * Proactively identify and implement improvements in process and reporting
Ideal Candidate
* Initiative: Strong self-starter w/excellent business judgment and ability to proactively problem solve * Communication: Clear and concise analyses, as well as excellent written and verbal communication * Critical thinking: Ability to scope and structure financial analysis and develop complex financial models to answer ad hoc business questions from senior management efficiently and accurately * Bachelor’s degree required -- MBA or equivalent strongly preferred * A minimum of 7+ years of related financial planning and business analysis experience * Financial services industry experience highly preferred * Ability to build relationships with, and provide thought leadership with a wide range of business partners across business functions and levels including senior leadership * Strong consulting and influencing skills – prior experience working in core Financial Planning & Analysis or dedicated analysist within a business unit.
