Summary
Our Project Services organization supports Schwab business goals through the delivery of projects spanning technology, operations, business continuity, and offshore management. Our team, including a centralized project management office, collaborates across a matrixed organization to deliver business value through efficient, disciplined and predictable project execution. We are looking for a Staffing Leader to be responsible for managing and developing project leaders, inspiring the team to move beyond project execution to delivering business outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Manage, coach and mentor a large team (up to 25) of business and technical Project Managers and Business Systems Analysts (mix of FT and contingent staff) * Collaborate with the Program Directors and Leadership Team in Project Services to understand the evolving portfolio and department needs * Assign employee and contingent talent based on portfolio needs and employee development considerations * Define the appropriate mix of roles and grade levels to efficiently and effectively support project execution needs * Hire and onboard new staff * Partnering with peers to develop strategies to integrate change, especially behavioral change, throughout the organization * Create an effective training strategy for on-going learning and continuous improvement; then execute on the strategy to build employee skill sets * Manage your team’s performance by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback and learning opportunities, and developing improvement plans as needed * Build individual engagement with regular 1-on-1 meetings, meaningful recognition, motivational support for career goals and identification of development opportunities * Build team engagement and energy by leading, inspiring and establishing a sense of community through a wide range of meetings and events
Ideal Candidate
* Five or more years of experience managing Project Managers and Business Analysts, successfully delivering technology projects * Three or more years of experience delivering technology projects in a matrixed environment as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Engagement Lead or Business Analyst * Demonstrated passion for managing people in a way that promotes employee engagement * Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and train staff * Demonstrated ability to hold staff accountable to performance expectations, taking corrective actions as needed * Proven ability to interact at a leadership level * Demonstrated ability to model leadership behaviors * Energy level and excitement that invigorates and inspires others, and reinforces corporate culture
